Frequently asked questions

A few things families ask before getting started. Don't see your question? Email us at hello@getafterlife.ai.

Is After Life a law firm?

+

No. After Life provides administrative support only, not legal, financial, or tax advice. We can refer you to vetted attorneys, CPAs, or financial planners when your situation calls for one.

What does After Life actually do?

+

We turn a pile of paperwork into a calm, prioritized plan. We draft letters, prepare forms, find benefits you may be owed, and walk with you through each step at your pace.

Do you contact banks or agencies for me?

+

We prepare everything and guide you, but we never send anything on your behalf without your explicit approval. You stay in control of every message.

How much does it cost?

+

The Free plan covers the most urgent steps after a loss. Plus is $24 a month for ongoing help. Concierge is an add-on for when you would like a real person to handle calls and paperwork alongside you.

How long do most families use After Life?

+

Most families settle the urgent paperwork in 4 to 8 weeks, then use us off and on for 9 to 18 months as estate matters resolve. Use it for as long, or as briefly, as you need.

Is my information private?

+

Yes. Your case belongs to you. We do not sell data, and only you and the family members you invite can view your plan.

Can I invite family members?

+

Yes. Plus includes family collaboration, so siblings, an executor, or a partner can share the workload.

Do you work in every state?

+

Yes, across the United States. Some steps, like probate or vital records, differ by state, and our plan adapts to yours.

Can you help if the death happened months ago?

+

Absolutely. Many families come to us weeks or months later. We will meet you exactly where you are.
